About Us
About Mile Fifty Nine Coffee
Hey there! I'm Justin Steele, the person behind Mile Fifty Nine Coffee. I'm a long-time coffee lover and have been a home roaster for several years. My professional background isn't in coffee, but I recently had an opportunity to explore a new career trajectory and decided that I could put my love of coffee to good use.
The Name
The name Mile Fifty Nine comes from a view that always feels like coming home. When driving north on I-49 and pass mile marker 59, you crest a hill and see Fayetteville tucked between the hills with the silhouette of Old Main prominently displayed. I'm not originally from here, but it didn't take long for this area to feel like home. So that's the feeling I want to capture with Mile Fifty Nine: connection, warmth, and belonging.
The Road Ahead
Right now we're small and lean. I'm set up to sell under the Arkansas Food Freedom Act (our version of cottage food laws) and while selling small quantities continuing to dial in and practice my roasting.
Hopefully in the near future, I will add a larger selection of roasts and some coffee accessories to the store. Then as soon as volume allows, I will move into a commercial space.
While we grow, I want to focus on building community. So to that end, please drop me a line at justin@milefiftyninecoffee.com. I would love to hear from you!
